About nicetranslation

Founded in Houston in 2017. Built around one principle: the translator has to understand the subject, not just the language.

Our story

We built this because the existing options were not good enough.

nicetranslation started in Houston in 2017 after one of our founders spent two years as in-house counsel at a multinational energy company, watching bilingual documentation create entirely avoidable legal and regulatory problems. The issue was never the translation agencies' core competence. The issue was the matching. A pharmaceutical clinical protocol went to a translator with a literature degree. A shareholder agreement went to someone whose strongest professional context was marketing.

The matching problem was so consistent that it looked structural. Agencies were optimizing for availability in the right language pair, not for professional alignment between the translator and the content. We set out to fix that specific thing, in the context of the industries we knew from working in them: law, pharmaceutical research, and corporate compliance.

Today we work with immigration attorneys across Harris County and beyond, pharmaceutical research teams in the Texas Medical Center, federal and state courts requiring certified interpreters, and US-based technology companies entering Latin American markets. The approach that defined the first project we took in 2017 is still how every project works in 2025.

What we stand for

Three things that define every project

Specialist matching, always

Every project is matched to a translator whose professional background fits the content. This is not a best-effort rule. It is a non-negotiable condition before we accept any assignment. A medical translator is a professional with clinical training who also translates. Not a translator who has done medical projects.

Fixed prices, never estimates

We do not give price ranges. We give one number before you commit to anything, and that number does not change. If our preliminary review of a project changes our assessment, we tell you before work begins. We have never issued an invoice higher than the quoted figure.

Native language only

Every translator translates into their native language. A Spanish-to-English translation is produced by a native English speaker. A French-to-English translation is produced by a native English speaker. There are no exceptions. The quality of output in a non-native language, regardless of fluency level, cannot match output in a native language for professional-grade work.
